The Most Chocolate Strawberry Brownie
Ingredients:
For the Brownie:
- 150 g unsalted butter
- 200 g dark chocolate, chopped
- 150 g sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 30 g cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
For the Strawberry Topping:
- 250 g fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 tbsp sugar (optional, depending on the sweetness of the strawberries)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Brownie:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a double boiler or a microwave, melt the butter and dark chocolate together until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly until smooth.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
2. Bake the Brownie:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownie to cool completely in the pan before slicing.
3. Prepare the Strawberry Topping:
- While the brownie cools, prepare the strawberries. If you prefer sweeter strawberries, toss the sliced strawberries with 2 tablespoons of sugar and let them sit for 10-15 minutes to macerate.
- Once the brownie has cooled, gently layer the sliced strawberries on top of the brownie, covering it evenly.
4. Serve:
- Cut the brownie into squares or rectangles, ensuring each piece has a generous amount of strawberries on top.
- Serve as is, or with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for added indulgence.
Each bite delivers a perfect balance of fudgy chocolate and the bright, juicy flavor of fresh strawberries—a delightful dessert experience! 🍓🍫
